The Background
The Alter.
June 20 on a beautiful Saturday, our daughter Laura married Drew.
The details were months in making.
After years of making wedding bouquets for brides, I created flowers for one of my own.
This is were they said their vows to each other.
Pausing
In one week we will gather lots of family and friends for a wedding.
Every minute of each day is filled with preparations.
Some of the very flowers growing here around the garden will be used at the event.
I can’t wait to share it with all of my garden friends here on Down To Earth Digs.

The Heat Is On
Just what the garden has been waiting for!
The flowers were just waiting for the warm up to show their flowers.
It’s going to be a colorful week here in the little garden.
Nasturtium is one of my favorite flowers.
The entire plant is edible! Add them to your fresh salad for a little peppery zip.
Now I just need some tasty heirloom tomatoes….come on garden!
Garden Friends
Otis is now 6 months old.
Loves to be outside.
Likes hanging out with his sisters Rosie and Cricket and big brother Otto.
Can’t resist a spot of sunshine likes his master.
The Break Room
Rabbit Run Cottage serves as the garden potting shed.
On the rainy weekend day’s I cleaned my little shed and my garden office is ready for this season.
The perfect view.

What color is your potting shed?
I have been asked to share the color used on Rabbit Run Cottage from several gardeners
in the past few weeks.
Though the trim color has changed a few times since Rabbit Run Cottage was built,
the building color has remained the same color.
The building is sided with cedar and stained with Cabot solid finish stain–color Sycamore.
This stain has held up incredibly well, does not fade!
In 10 years the little garden shed has only been stained twice.
It’s a color I have never tired of, it blends nicely in the garden.
It’s a color that looks nice with every season of the garden.
