Last September I had the wonderful opportunity to visit and work with Country Gardens Magazine, in the Better Homes and Gardens Test Garden.
We were in awe of the perfectly groomed gardens, and were inspired to rework the pond in our own garden.
The tear down has begun, and my garden is quite a sight right now.
Can’t wait to start putting things together.
Heirloom Garden Tools
A most generous gift from my cousin John. I am so thrilled to have these hand forged tools to work my garden.
“The smell of iron and coal, the sound of the hammer ringing off the anvil. The feel of pushing around steel as though it was just so much clay. Looking at a piece of scrap metal through my Mind’s Eye, and then molding it into form. There has always been and will always be a treasure trove of excitement to the senses for me in the Blacksmith Shop.”

How Fun Is This?
Weather Matters
Spring is in slow motion.
Temperatures so cool that the garden is not ready to show itself.
Rain persists and the Sun seems to have taken a leave of absence.
A quick moving storm rolled through yesterday afternoon, my first true experience in the path of straight line winds.
I won’t dwell on the damage it left, but my chore list grew.
Not the kind of growing I was hoping for.
It’s My Anniversary!
I have been blogging about this little garden for 3 years!
Spending time in my little greenhouse and garden provides me with so much more than fresh vegetables, herbs, and pretty flowers.
Sharing and chatting with people from all over the world–has fed my soul more than I ever knew possible.
Thank you to all who stop by.
