Feathering the nest

Feathering the nest

We have been busy fluffy up the garden.
Strawberries, and new Asparagus planted in the kitchen garden.
The compost has been added to the raised beds.
Uncovering all the perennial beds…slowly the garden is shaping up.

  1. Yes, we planted Asparagus in the corner of our property 5 years ago, and had our first crop last Spring….we are trying to contain everything in the fenced kitchen garden–for ease.
I only planted 12 plants in the raised beds, they are suppose to only take 3 years.
Did I mention it snowed again, 10 inches in the garden this morning! Struggling to stay positive! 🙂

    1. Things are finally warming up here….after yet another blast of Winter last week!
Garden work has kicked in and wow, do I feel a month behind–the plants too!
My Lilacs might bloom by July! 🙂

  2. Lovely pictures as usual, I always enjoy your nature shots. Today I found several flowers on my strawberry plants and was so excited I wanted to announce it to the world 🙂 I refuse to buy strawberries from the store which means I haven’t eaten one since last September. Isn’t it funny how something so simple can make our day so much brighter?

    1. My husband has planted and moved an entire raised bed–8ft full of strawberries. I don’t know if we will get any this year, with the season running so late–but we should be set for next year!
:), Thank you for your always kind comments!
