What better way to top off a Summer salad then some pretty Pansy blossoms tossed in!
Pansies are edible–but only if purchased as an edible plant–or grown yourself in a chemical free garden like mine.
Or top a plate of cupcakes with a fresh little blossom!
A lovely way to add some beauty to a plate.
And easy!
Beautiful!
Beautiful shades this year, and love the black ones!
I attended a wedding once where I flower, I think and orchid, was placed on the plate. Edible, I was told, but I didn’t eat mine.
I agree this would be pretty served atop a cupcake or in a salad, Not sure I could eat a blossom though.
What does it taste like?
Pansies, not much taste! 🙂
I love using pansies and violets as garnishes : )
I dried a few batches to use this Winter!
You still have pansies at this time of year? Wow…even a ‘normal’ summer is too hot here!
I know!, they are still blooming! But, the garden is so stressed with this heat and lack of rain.
Oh I am so envious—-my pansies are long gone…..spring is the only time we have pansies or sometimes late fall I may get a few that survived the heat of the summer. They always make me smile when I see them floating in the garden.
Such a striking photo! I used to overlook pansies, but they are so delicate and striking.
