I think they said the record was Sept 3 for the earliest frost, so guess not! Warming nicely today though…my garden is on high ground, so nothing was touched by the frost. Hope we have a nice long, warm Autumn. 🙂
I’ll send some of our autumn heat your way! Our average first frost isn’t until the first week of November. It’s often in the 80s for Halloween and still shorts weather on Thanksgiving. I still haven’t really adjusted to those realities of living here…
We made is to 67 this afternoon! Evenings drop right off though! Someone at the store today, said “did you here we are in for another long cold Winter?” What, who, why!!!???
Thankfully is was light, only touched the fields in the low areas. My garden is still going strong, with a little rain relief the last few weeks.
Sunshine and 60’s today and for the rest of the week!
We have the same here just need to keep an eye on the hours before dawn this week. That will be the kicker.
Yikes, I missed looking at the pumpkin patch yesterday–frost had killed all the leaves–even got a few pumpkins that were on the edge! Had to pick all of them last night!
Is that early where you are?

Love autumn but not ready for the frost!

Oh no! I keep saying every year we need to get on the ball and do cold frames. Need to stop putting that off.
