I learned how to grow Nasturtium while working at a small garden center.
Working in the greenhouse I was instructed to drop 5 seeds into each little 4″pot.
Within no time, the little lily pad leaves were emerging.
I loved how quickly they grew and their slightly messy, trailing vines.
That was the first year I planted Nasturtium in our window boxes.
I don’t believe I have missed a year since.
Nasturtium is one of my ‘must haves’.
What are yours?
I was surprised to see Nasturtium coming up in my garden this year. I didn’t plant it…so where did it come from?
Must Have = Spring TOMATOES!!
Tomatoes
Zinnias. Definitely zinnias. My mom grew them and they remind me of her and the farm. Plus, they make great cut flowers for colorful bouquets. Yes, I love zinnias. So easy to grow also from seed.
Lilacs, peonies and lily of the valley! The theme is fragrance!
Tomatoes over here as well. Not for the eating necessarily (I don’t like them) but for the sowing and growing and smelling and caring.
I plant Nasturtiums every year. They were my Mother’s favorite flower. Then I plant cosmos, which was another of my Mother’s favorites. Beautiful photo.
Snap Dragon, Yellow and light pink are my ‘must have’ annuals for the beds. And Sweet Peas. As far as pots, I always enjoy the Wave Petunia
