Anticipation

Anticipation

My carefully tended tomato plants are ready for planting.

This basket from last season holds many of my favorite heirlooms.

Ananas Noir, Emerald Evergreen, Creme Brule, Ferris Wheel, Chocolate and more!

These are the gems of my kitchen garden.

May Madness

May Madness

May is a busy month in the greenhouse and garden.

More and more of the garden is emerging from the very long winter.

Plants are growing quickly and spilling out of garden pots and trays.

Each morning I move plants from the greenhouse to acclimate to the real world.

Yes, I do give them pep talks!

Cash Crop

Cash Crop

Gardening seems to be paying off!

While weeding and cleaning flower beds, a slightly faded five dollar bill caught my eye!

I did look around for more, but this seems to be the only one–for now!

Hoping I have a few more sprouting up!

When The Pickles Are Gone

Growing Herbs

Today I had the pleasure of speaking at our local library.

I love herbs and hopefully inspired some gardeners to start a culinary herb garden.

Little starter pots of herbs can be kept from drying out under a little overturned canning jar.

Ready, Set, Grow!

Ready, Set, Grow

Busy in the garden!

Raking out garden beds and getting the raised beds ready for seeds and plants!

Hours outdoors are leaving me tired and happy each night.

I’ve lost one pair of garden gloves all ready!

Daylily Chores

Daylily

When the lilies are in bloom, I dead head each evening.

It’s a quiet, peaceful garden chore that I rather enjoy.

In the morning I’m greeted with fresh looking plants ready to open more flowers for the day.
