If your a a local garden friend….
I will be speaking at our local library on Monday, May 12th at 7 PM.
I am not an expert gardener or speaker, but I can always chat about gardening!
I hope to share a bit about how we built our little greenhouse, my gardening style, and talk about the process of the Country Gardens magazine photo shoot.

The Little Garden Pond
We do have a little garden pond.
It’s quite small, but the sound of a water feature in a garden can make a big impact.
So soothing during quiet evenings around the fire pit.
We would like to make changes to it this year, as we have learned more about maintaining a pond.
One of the biggest challenges is keeping the ducks out of it!
Last year I relinquished it to the baby ducklings, but this year I plan to impose the “no ducks allowed” rule.
Seed to Soil
A Look Back
The garden started when we moved our beloved little Rabbit Run Cottage from our old home.
It survived the trip and was slid off the trailer into a weedy patch of property.
By the end of the first garden season we had cleaned up the weeds and began the work of making a garden that had a dream of mine for many years.
Next would be the greenhouse and kitchen garden….
I love it when a plan comes together!
It starts
The Other Greenhouse
We found this cute little greenhouse, at the end of season sale, from a local home improvement store.
It is such a cute little greenhouse!
It does a wonderful job, also nurturing my plants.
In fact, I use it to harden off plants from the larger greenhouse.
The rest of the season it is used for holding empty pots and gardening supplies.
This year I would like to give it a more permanent home in the garden and began planting around it.
And the list goes on…..
Ahhhh
I don’t know?
I was recently asked “How big is your garden”?
It sits on the North side of our home, meandering East to West.
It really is just about the right size!
A place to start and nurture my plants, a kitchen garden, Rabbit Run Cottage, and a few places to sit and relax.
Even when we lived in little apartments early in our married life, I gardened in little pots…that was the perfect size too!
Yes, you heard it here–size doesn’t matter!
