Welcome October

Welcome October

I welcome the colors of Autumn to the garden.
This one blossom faded more quickly then the rest.
I thought the shades of brown were beautiful and rested it on a linen.
As the garden fades into Fall, welcome October.

Apple Season

Apple Season

It’s apple season!
The best decoration for the table, a bowl of beautiful apples.
“Eat an apple”, I remind my kids.
Apple Butter is cooked to spread on our toast all Winter long.
Thank you Johnny Appleseed.

Better Homes and Gardens Test Garden

Better Homes and Gardens Test Garden

My favorite spot in the test garden…this little winding waterfall filling the pond.
It was shaded with stunning Japanese Maples.
A serene spot in the garden.
Photo by my husband, Eric–who documented my day with Country Gardens Magazine!

I couldn't leave without a photograph of the iconic red trowel! Plantoir by Claes Oldenburg and Cassje van Bruggen. It commemorates the 100th anniversary and it's role in gardening through publication.

It’s a very good day

It's a very good day

The opportunity to work with the talented people of Country Gardens Magazine, I’m headed back home to my little garden after an amazing day.

And, yes–that’s me back there–standing next to the arbor entrance to the vegetable garden!
