About This Little Garden Blog

It arrived yesterday in the mail.  I had began to stalk the mailman, knowing I would see his car at the end of my driveway sometime around 1:30 PM.   There it was.  I tore open the plain grey plastic wrap and held my advance copy of Artful Blogging.

Long before I began my little blog, I poured over pages of this magazine.  Filled with amazing stories about bloggers of every subject matter.  Beautifully written stories of their blogging journey, and page after page of beautiful images.

When Managing Editor Danielle Mohler contacted me this past Fall to ask if I would write an article for this issue, I was so excited and honored.  Thank you to Stampington & Company for this opportunity to share my little garden with your readers.

Artful Blogging can be found at Barnes & Noble, Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Amazon and ordered directly from http://www.stampington.com/artful.blogging

2 years ago I had great success with my little crop of celosia.  Started from seed in the greenhouse, it struggled to take off and I lost even more when I planted it into The Pickery.  I didn’t give up and with plenty of watering was able to encourage several large heads to form.  What a spectacular color burst in the garden.

Last years crop was a dismal failure, with stems barely reaching 2 feet tall.  What flowers did form were very small.       Digging back in the archived images from the garden reminded me that I should give these a try–again!

The greenhouse remains cold for a few more weeks, but I still venture out there to escape the Winter winds and just linger among the clay pots and garden tools.  Tucked into a crate I found these quail eggs that I had forgotten to pack away.

These delicate eggs are among many items in my nature collection.  I love the colors, the delicate textures.  Mother Nature always inspires me.
