5 years ago we “dropped” our little garden shed
into a weed patch of our new property.
I had little time to ponder the placement of the beloved shed–I was just grateful it had made the journey.
I knew it was the beginning of my garden.
A garden I had dreamed of nearly my entire adult life.
So let’s take a little peak back in time–and see how Rabbit Run Cottage was created.

Tea Parties Daily

Its colors are more muted for the garden, and the play kitchen was retired. A pile of pillows, quilts and books are in the loft. Lucy is very gracious in sharing her little house with me.

Thought I’d repost this from last year….
It’s a good time to start planning those Spring projects!
Hope this gives you a little inspiration.
You know how lucky you are, right? 😉
Thanks so much for sharing the process…hard to believe it began as a prefab! It takes real creative vision to create this from that…
My husband loved your comment!!! You know how lucky you are. !!! One of his favorite sayings! Glad to share the before pictures–:)
Yes I would have voted for you in the ugly shed contest, but you definitely won the beautiful getaway in the end! It’s amazing, how talented your husband is to have seen beyond the beginning to create such a charming place.
When we lived in town, the shed became a little tourist sight…people would drive up and try to sneak a photo…I would always just say come on back and take a look up close! 🙂
Wow. I am impressed. You did this with an ordinary, ugly garden shed. You ought to market this idea to whatever places sell these. The transformation is incredible.
If we didn’t have the pictures–no one would believe the before! 🙂 Glad you enjoyed the story.
Stacey
O I admire people who can use their skill and a few home tools to do that. It’s super cute and your garden is glorious
We call this one “rural practicality”! Thank you for you kind comment.
And we have a house to remodel now!!! Stacey
With a eye for cuteness, I see great things will transpire for you there!
Wow, you make it look so easy 🙂
It was a fun family project, that makes me smile, looking back at the pictures.
🙂 Glad to share
Oh to have some tea on that porch. I love how Lucy (I assume) drew the windows where she wanted them. Really a piece of art in your garden!
Thank you for your kind comment….and yes, I gave Lucy a marker and we drew out what she wanted….she was having a little trouble “seeing the vision” –truthfully so was I!
I am in love with this! I would find a quiet nook with something to read and never leave! 🙂
It is a great place to hang out–or hide in!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE This Sweet Story!!! So Blessed to be able to call Rabbit Run’s Creative,Talented, and Inspiring Owner, Friend!!! So great to see the “before” photos, I had forgotten what it once was! You two make a great team! Let’s get together soon!
When will the construction began on Miss Keaton’s little cottage? Of coarse she needs one!!!
Wow, that is insanely impressive.

Transforming a backyard shed into a charming little cottage.
What a fun post, and right up my alley. I love gardening, sheds, rabbits, children, DIY husbands and as and organizer, before and afters. You’ve done amazing things with that shed and the garden. That you would invited passersby in for a closer look says a lot about you too. So glad you find your blog.
The shed turned cottage is fantastic but your REALLY cooperative, loving family is the REAL story here.
What could be more idyllic than sharing beautiful surroundings as a family?
Thank you for this lovely post!
☺
Thia is awesome. I love it when someone can transform something into a beautiful place. and your cottage and garden are so beautiful.. 😉
Thank you so much for your kind comment! My husband did do a great job on rebuilding that darn old shed!
Hugs, Stacey
How sweet of you to visit the garden and I’m so glad you enjoyed the story of our little garden shed! Thank you!
Hi! What an amazing and beautiful job!!! I’m currently in the process of building a playhouse for my daughter and would love to know the dimensions of the front door, loft area, the height the loft begins at and how tall the loft area is and how tall the overall structure is if that’s ok!
