Despite the weather and below normal temperatures in May-I was still able to get my Heirloom tomato plants into the raised beds quite early.
After yet another round of rain, this is what I found this morning.

Eggs in the morning
Though it is Summer, I have been waking very early.
Tiding up in the morning from kids who stay up later them me, has become my ritual.
Washing the eggs collected the evening before.
I can see from my small kitchen sink window, the scratching chickens in the coop.
The ducks waddle by on their way to the next great rain puddle to bathe in.
Flame grazes in the pasture, raising her beautiful head to listen to a truck drive by on the gravel road.
Jimmy, our sassy little donkey is never far from her side.
I love sunrise on a Summer morning.
Gotta run, Rosie is at the front door for her morning treat!
Beautiful Peonies
I cut a hand full of Peonies this morning to bring to the house.
How pretty they looked with the morning sunrise highlighting their ruffled petals.
I can’t resist smelling their sweet fragrance every time I walk by.
The rain barrel
Last year the garden had so little rain, that the rain barrel was empty most of the Summer and Fall.
This year we can’t seem to catch a break from the rain.
The ground is saturated and heavy rains have been making little ponds in the landscape.

Rosie is still growing!
The sweetest puppy, with such a serious face.
She spends lots of time with me in the garden and loves to stretch out and snooze in the warm sun.
She decided that the rain water collected in this flower pot is quite refreshing.

This sweet garden bench was made by a garden friend. Using old headboards as the base, each bench is unique and perfect in the garden.
A perfect addition to Rabbit Run Cottage, I added a couple of vintage ticking feather pillows to take a little rest from garden chores.
