The Break Room

The Break Room

Rabbit Run Cottage serves as the garden potting shed.

On the rainy weekend day’s I cleaned my little shed and my garden office is ready for this season.

The perfect view.

Accidents Happen

Accidents Happen

A couple years ago,  I discovered I loved leeks.

Yesterday, I bumped my tray of leek seedlings.

I will be starting over.

I will not be denied my potato leek soup!

Raise Me Up

Raise Me Up

My kitchen garden is made up of 8 raised beds.

This little corner bed is my leafy greens area or lovingly referred to as “the salad bar”

This bed will be planted and picked upwards of 3 times a growing season.

Who wants a big salad?

Heirloom Tomatoes

Heirloom Tomatoes

It’s so hard to choose which varieties will make the grow list each spring.

That’s why the greenhouse will be filled again this year with lots of plants.

Seed To Soil

Seed To Soil

In just a few short weeks, I will start trays of seeds for the next garden season.

This process may just be my favorite part of gardening.  The greenhouse is warm and moisture covers the inside glass, giving almost a watercolor effect to the snowy landscape outside.

Quiet days, filling pots and trays of herbs, vegetables and flowers.

I fill the greenhouse from top to bottom, enough for me, and plenty to offer in a little “Extra Sale”

This year I will also be growing flowers and herbs that will be used in our daughters wedding.

Eat Your Vegetables

The kitchen garden is packed full of tasty vegetables this year.

Some may say the beds are a bit over planted (my husband!), but I didn’t want to waste one little bit of space this year.

We snacked on fresh pea pods and green beans yesterday, and our first cucumbers today.

Pesto to make this week with Basil plants growing quickly.
