  1. A friend gave me perhaps a half dozen hydrangea two years ago to anchor a front corner of my house. They have grown into a beautiful mass with hundreds of blossoms. Apparently the location offers the perfect soil, the perfect sunlight.

  2. What a beautiful sight when they are in bloom! Off topic..any word on publication release yet? So hard to wait, isn’t it!

    1. I added 3 Hydrangea dwarf standard trees this last Spring, hoping they endure the Winter!
On the magazine story: Just last week Field Editor, Kate Carter Frederick and I chatted on the phone, emailed and completed the interviews for the article! She is such an amazing woman that I feel privileged to call “friend”.
Everything is in the hands of the Art Director and Editor….but still believe it to be the early Fall addition, which hits the stands Aug 1.
So hard to wait! Thanks so much for being excited about it with me…means a lot to me!

    1. Hello Colleen,
Thank you for stopping by my little garden blog! I love the East Coast, and always love all the Hydrangea growing out there.
Had the pleasure of vacation in Maine when all the Hydrangea’s were at their peak! Beautiful!

  3. Beautiful! Hydrangeas grow beautifully in my area, but they do take a lot of water and we are hot in the summer. No matter how much I try to shift my garden to mostly drought-tolerant plants, I don’t think I can eliminate all hydrangeas. They are just so rewarding! 🙂

    1. I know, we had a wet Spring last year, followed by drought conditions…I could not put down enough water last year….and I was watering from before Sunrise to after Sunset…I did lose one Hydrangea in a area away from the main garden. If I had to pick only one thing to grow in my garden…I wouldn’t even have to hesitate, Hydrangea. Luckily I don’t have to pick though! 🙂
