I love how you can see that 3 eggs occupied the perfect soft nest.
Some of my vintage garden sprinklers.
A few prized vintage decorations for the garden, on a beautiful Halloween afternoon.
My weathered bee skep…
found many years ago at an estate sale.
There is no season when such pleasant and sunny spots
may be lighted on, and produce so pleasant an effect on feelings, as now October.
I enjoy my time in the garden– more than I enjoy the work in the kitchen.
But of coarse, the work must be done.
Tomatoes have been roasted,
Apples have been turned to Apple Butter, and pie fillings,
Soups have been made for the Winter months,
Herbs have been dried.
Simple, functional, natural, cozy things.
Twine, jute, string….
I like them all.
I tend to buy it, even if I know I have plenty left…
A very practical collection.
My grandparents had chickens…
well concrete ones.
They had the whole family.
A rooster, a hen, and 3 little chicks.
When Grandpa mowed the lawn, we helped move the little chicks.
When this chicken appeared at a local auction, my husband was the wining bidder,
and brought me home my own concrete chicken.
