September garden

Seeds, so simple

Dill, gone to seed.

I enjoy my time in the garden– more than I enjoy the work in the kitchen.

But of coarse, the work must be done.

Tomatoes have been roasted,

Apples have been turned to Apple Butter, and pie fillings,

Soups have been made for the Winter months,

Herbs have been dried.

As the last week of September arrives,

so too have the cool mornings and evenings.

Our first hard frost arrived yesterday, forcing me into a faster pace of finishing the harvest.

Tea in the garden this morning required a woolen wrap.

Pumpkin!

Harvest continues…

Tomatoes, carrots, swiss chard, peppers still to put up.

Herbs to dry.
