A little help from my friends

The chickens like to help with the flower bed clean up.

    1. Some of them are molting right now, and man are they “interesting” looking! But then they grow back and are all fluffly and pretty again!
I don’t keep a rooster anymore–I do miss them but when they turned on me they had to go!

    1. I’ll make sure they are safely tucked in the coop when you visit–so you don’t worry!! and my mother was terrified of chickens due to the same event as a child! She would love my garden but not my chickens!

  1. I love the layers of color and texture in your photo: chickens, perennials, sunflowers, cedar shingles, trees & sky! Just realized my layer pun! We had chickens years ago. I found out the hard way why our rooster was free – the previous owners were not kidding that he was aggressive… Kellogg got buried behind our outhouse because he got scarier and scarier!

    1. Thank you for your kind words! Those darn roosters, It was kinda funny when they were chasing everyone else, and the day they turned on me–they had an appointment at the butcher shop! I do miss their prettiness, and the crowing believe it or not.

    1. I’m about ready to let them loose on the “other garden”. I picked the last pumpkins yesterday, and the remaining garden is about spent. They will be very happy hens for a few days!
