Rosie’s new friend

Rosie's new friend

Rosie curled up with Great Niece Keanna, after all the Halloween Party fun.
Rosie even got a glow necklace for the party!
Can’t wait till next year!

Autumn in darker shades

Autumn in darker shades

I still will stop and gather pretty leaves while out walking around the garden.
I even tucked a few into some pages of a book to press–perhaps for a future little project.

October Garden Goodness

October garden

The garden has provided pretty Autumn touches for the dining room.
Dried papery hydrangea, a vintage crock full of red and orange rose hips, and a bowl of mini pumpkins and corn.
Against a backdrop of an old, well used cutting board my decorating is done–at least in this room!

Welcome October

Welcome October

I welcome the colors of Autumn to the garden.
This one blossom faded more quickly then the rest.
I thought the shades of brown were beautiful and rested it on a linen.
As the garden fades into Fall, welcome October.

Opportunities in October

Take a little trip with me,

over to visit Claire at the Promenade.

Claire is away for a little vacation and I wrote a little guest post for her wonderful blog.

Blending in

A walk to the mailbox

didn’t seem to offer much interesting to photograph.

Then I heard the “peeping”. Little heads were peeking up, to see if it was safe to cross the road.

See the young pheasants?

Broken beauty

There is no season when such pleasant and sunny spots

may be lighted on, and produce so pleasant an effect on feelings, as now October.
