A garden speaks

A garden speaks

This corner says, “Come on in and enjoy the view.” Our first day in 6 months that the temperature will reach 60 degrees!!
I am walking gingerly in the garden as not to trample soggy ground, inspecting and taking mental inventory.
Watching the last snow piles melt, and breathing in the smells of Spring.

We all need more Thyme!

We all need more Thyme!

A sweet little wreath I made from Thyme…
Tie bundles of thyme onto a wire form.
Hang in your kitchen and trim sprigs when you need to flavor your dishes.

Taking My Sweet Thyme

Taking My Sweet Thyme

This wire carrier is perfect for tucking pots of Herbs into.
Pick your flavors and carry right to the kitchen for the best Herb and Spice rack ever!

Plenty of Thyme

Plenty of Thyme

My little Herb wreath I made this past Summer.
Dried and ready to flavor Winter meals.
Pinch a few sprigs and roll between your fingers.
My little Kitchen Garden has lived up to it’s name.

Herb Wreath

Sometimes I just ignore the weeds and work,

and busy myself with a little fun project.

The Thyme that creeps around the edges of the garden is thick, lush and just starting to flower.

A good time to give it a little trim.

This is beneficial for the Thyme and gives me the opportunity to make a little Herb Wreath to hang in the kitchen

I used some old wire and jute string.
I used some old wire and jute string.

Gather little bundles of Thyme and tie with a piece of jute.

Tie the bundles onto the wire and knot tightly in the back of the wreath.

Tuck each new bundle into the previous bundle and continue around the wreath.

Herb Wreath

Tuck the Thyme in tightly, when it dries it will shrink down and you do not want the wire frame to show.

You can enjoy the wreath right away, snipping fresh Thyme for cooking.

If you would like to dry it, just hang it in a dry, cool location.

Maybe the garden gate needs a little wreath.

Enjoy!

Just a little dash

Just a little dash

I love when I can just snip a few fresh Herbs right from the garden.
I have been sprinkling Thyme on everything from sandwiches to roasted sweet corn.
These little ironstone butter pats are perfect for holding herbs for meal time.

I need more Thyme

I need more Thyme

Why stop with just one plant?
I have been adding Thyme all around the edges of the garden and greenhouse.
With the scuff of a garden boot or the brush of a hand that spicy aroma fills the air.
