Cilantro when gone to seed becomes Coriander–
or a lot more Cilantro!
I will fill a jar for the spice cupboard and store the rest in my seed drawers for Spring planting.

I should have read this yesterday. I just pulled my dried up cilantro plant from the pot and tossed it in to a pile of yard waste. No hope of finding it. Learned my lesson for next year.
Cilantro is a plant that everything is edible, leaf-flower-seed.
I am just starting seed saving this year, so I am interested to see how you do it!
Rita, I have only been seed saving for a few years–I really thought mine weren’t good enough, and needed to buy that seed each year. Then I started checking germination rate with my seed versus store bought….mine was just as good, and in some cases even better.
Add up the cost of those little seed packets…seed saving is a very good thing!
Thanks for sharing this. I can’t believe I never thought of letting my cilantro go to seed to harvest coriander… Well…I just planted some in the greenhouse about a week ago. And maybe, just maybe it will go to seed, we’ll see..
Cilantro bolts so quickly–you should have seed!
That’s more the harvest I look for from that plant anyway…Want some fennel seed? I have a ton ๐
๐ I have boat loads of Dill!
Fantastic! I’ve always pulled it out too soon! Now I know better. ๐
I have only bought Cilantro seed 1 time….it just keeps on giving! ๐
