Overflowing garden beds hide the raised beds.
It’s hard to tell what’s hiding in there sometimes, and I find myself nearly standing on my head to pick tomatoes.

The liatris shows more color each day.
They are framing the front porch of Rabbit Run Cottage quite beautifully this year.
Still missing is the little flag from the front porch post…I’m working on a little replacement.

Lost and Found

Lost and Found

While cleaning up flower beds this Spring, it was clear my beautiful Butterfly Bush’s had not survived the Winter.
Last Fall I had planted just a few Liatris that I had started in the greenhouse. They have filled in the empty gaps and are going to be stunning in a few days….I love the purple against the grey-green colors of Rabbit Run Cottage.
Notice anything else? That hole in the porch post is missing it’s Flag. Lost in the storm.
Check back in the garden in a few days if you love purple!

Rural Practicality

This sweet garden bench was made by a garden friend.  Using old headboards as the base, each bench is unique and perfect in the garden.

A perfect addition to Rabbit Run Cottage, I added a couple of vintage ticking feather pillows to take a little rest from garden chores.

Rabbit Run Cottage–the story

5 years ago we “dropped” our little garden shed

into a weed patch of our new property.

I had little time to ponder the placement of the beloved shed–I was just grateful it had made the journey.

I knew it was the beginning of my garden.

A garden I had dreamed of nearly my entire adult life.

So let’s take a little peak back in time–and see how Rabbit Run Cottage was created.

Rabbit Run Cottage has grown up along with Lucy. Her colors are more muted for the garden, and the play kitchen was retired. A pile of pillows, quilts and books are in the loft. She is very gracious in sharing her little house with me.

Every Spring a new family of rabbits is born under Rabbit Run Cottage.

Thought I’d repost this from last year….

It’s a good time to start planning those Spring projects!

Hope this gives you a little inspiration.
