I hinted a few days ago about an addition to the garden pond.
Sailboats!
Some scrap wood, old spindles for the mast, and vintage grain sack sails.
I think they look quite nice bobbing in the water.

Glorious Sunshine
The sun just makes things–better.
A week of storms, damaging winds and more rain than ever recorded in this Counties history.
The garden is slowly recovering, the water soaking in.
What you can’t see in this image; millions of mosquitoes!
Saving The Peonies
Storms are taking a toll on, well– everything!
I cut an armful of Peonies to at least enjoy the fragrant blossoms a few days in the house.
New And Improved
The new and improved garden pond!
Shallow edges making the pond more visible from around the garden.
Tumbled rock to line the pond, with field stones and limestone used in the waterfall and edges.
New areas of the garden have opened up to more work and opportunities.
I’m planting in with lots of starter perennials and sneaking plants from one area of the garden to another.
A friend offered some of her ferns and I can’t wait to go get them for the newest shade area of the garden.
A frog has moved in all ready and is happily croaking, but I have yet to spy him.
Working on a little surprise for the pond.

The Flags Are Out
Pretty Iris making their appearance this week.
The pot was marked as purple when I purchased these 3 years ago.
Much to my surprise yellow Iris appeared instead.
It’s a good color.
The State Of Things
With busy days in the garden, I have been forgetting to pick up my camera!
Some chores have been checked off the list, with many more still to go.
Scraping the greenhouse paint and then giving it a fresh coat of color is still a big one to get done.
To bad Rosie can’t help!

Spending time in my little greenhouse and garden provides me with so much more than fresh vegetables, herbs, and pretty flowers.
Sharing and chatting with people from all over the world–has fed my soul more than I ever knew possible.

Plenty
There will be plenty of Heirloom tomato plants!
The greenhouse is filled with a beautiful crop of plants for my little sale this Spring.
Herbs too….I can’t live without my herbs–you should have some too.
Spring is warming my soul, as I get the garden ready for company.
